"...I came to this class hungry to sweat, purge & leave all my recent past behind to emerge feeling renewed...Eric is the yogi that helped me achieve...brilliantly."-Heather J., Waterloo, IA (on Yelp.com) "I love Eric Bryant's Vinyasa classes. He challenges my practice to it's fullest potential, both physically and mentally. The vinyasa flow is just right with a variety of fun and challenging poses, including inversions. His step by step teaching technique presented in a clear and concise way guides me skillfully through my practice. I feel like my entire body has gotten a full workout from the inside out!" -Sherry M. (Source Yoga Center website) "Eric is wonderful" -Janelle D. (on WRTV "A" list voter site) "Just wanted you to know that EVERYONE that I talked to this afternoon commented how much they loved the class today and that it was the best one to date! We also really appreciate your efforts in working on the schedule with us. Have a good week and talk to you soon." -Lora H., US Trustee's Office "We were both in your Saturday afternoon class in Terre Haute and I wanted to send you a special thank you for doing that and for helping us out. We both really enjoyed your class and were abe to connect with your way of teaching. I know I especailly liked the way you you were "hands on" and how much that helped me with triangle pose." -Dick and Katie B. "hey, thanks for the awesome class yesterday. i slept like a baby. :)" -Liz M. (from my Facebook page) My Bio I bring a very down-to-earth, personal approach to my classes. Drawing from my own practice and experiences, my classes are a challenging mix of creative flowing sequences built around the framework of an over-riding theme or concept. In my classes I use personal observations of how my yoga practice relates to and supports my life off the mat.I began my study of yoga in New York City in the spring of 2000 while looking for ways to get back in shape, improve my mental/spiritual outlook and get out of my tiny studio apartment. I felt transformed by the practice from my first class, and knew that I eventually wanted to share the benefits of yoga with others. In the spring of 2006 I received my 200-hour certification through the internationally recognized OM Yoga Center, directed by Cyndi Lee, and am registered with the Yoga Alliance. I have also completed a 25-hour teacher training with Doug Swenson focusing on his holistic system, Yoga Sadhana Chi. My classes incorporate a lively, playful vinyasa flow to harmonize the breath and body, an attention to alignment to find space in each pose and a practice of being mindful to what is going on in the body and mind in each moment. In addition to Cyndi Lee and Doug Swenson, I've been honored to study with Seane Corn, Frank Mauro, David Swenson and Dana Flynn, though my true teachers and sources of inspiration are my students. When I'm not teaching yoga, I enjoy teaching and choreographing sword fights and scenes of conflict and struggle for stage and film, and hiking with my wife and dogs. |
